MANHOOD PROJECT

Welcome to the MANHOOD project, a transformative initiative aimed at addressing and reversing the systemic mass incarceration of Black males. Our mission is clear: through a series of empowering workshops centered on positive traits of manhood, we guide individuals in reclaiming their identity with the wisdom of God, equipping them to thrive as upstanding citizens in our society.

At the core of our approach is the belief that by nurturing a strong sense of manhood rooted in faith and practical wisdom, we can combat the pervasive stereotypes that have plagued Black manhood for generations. We refuse to accept the status quo, challenging both white America's perceptions and our own community's understanding of what it means to be a man.

Partnering with esteemed organizations such as City of Refuge Ministries, MADD STUDIOS MANHOOD REVEALED, Montgomery schools, and several local Black Belt HBCU Colleges, we have formed a formidable coalition dedicated to effecting meaningful change. Together, we offer a comprehensive array of resources, from workshops and educational programs to authored works and innovative tools like our groundbreaking MANHOOD TEST.

What sets us apart from traditional rites of passage programs is our holistic approach, which addresses the root causes of mass incarceration while empowering individuals to rewrite their own narratives. By instilling a sense of purpose, integrity, and resilience, we not only aim to prevent future involvement with the criminal justice system but also to foster a new generation of leaders who embody the true essence of manhood.
